Fabrica Mood was a short experiment as part of the Designing for Health workshop held at Fabrica, completed over the course of a day.
The app worked through an existing system at Fabrica: the iChat messaging system installed in every Mac.
By using a system already in place – used by researchers for talking to each other internally across the institution – and simply asking how everyone felt that day – happy, normal or sad, via emoticons – Fabrica Mood created the conditions to instantly chart the mood of the entire institution, and collate them into a graphical representation.
