Alcantara invited Fabrica to develop work using their proprietary material. Shiver is a concept I developed in response to this brief, using the physicality of the material to generate sound.

The installation is comprised of long strips of Alcantara fabric suspended from the ceiling; each strip embedded with thousands of needles used in the production of the material. Upon touching the base of a strip, a wave of motion runs down the length of the material causing the sound of needles making contact with each other to propagate downward, while the motion ultimately pulls the fabric away from the hand.

The installation was shown at MAXXI-The National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome.
